PED Notes

Many athletes are deficient despite supplement use. Important for testosterone production, immune function, bone health, and mood. Aim for 75-150 nmol/L for optimal performance and hormonal health.

When low

Supplements:

  • Vitamin D3 -- 5000 IU/day (take with a fat-containing meal for absorption)
  • Vitamin K2 (MK-7) -- 100-200mcg/day (directs calcium to bones, not arteries)

Follow-up:

  • Recheck levels after 8-12 weeks of supplementation
