Non-HDL Cholesterol
Lipids marker
Non-HDL Cholesterol
Category: Lipids
Unit: mmol/L
Total cholesterol minus HDL. Captures all atherogenic lipoproteins (LDL, VLDL, IDL).
PED Notes
Better predictor of cardiovascular risk than LDL alone. AAS worsen this marker by suppressing HDL and elevating LDL/VLDL. Target <2.5 mmol/L for primary prevention. ApoB is an even more accurate cardiovascular risk marker -- consider requesting alongside lipid panel.
